Mellissah Smith is the Chairperson of The World Incubator, a not-for-profit business incubator in rural Queensland. Currently the incubator is situation in Wherry House in Charters Towers, North Queensland and houses 10 startups. The countdown to 2016 has never been more exciting than it is today. Next Monday, 16th November, 2015, we will host the first incubator meetup in Charters Towers.

Everyone is invited. I will even buy you a coffee!!!! If you just want to know what is going on, or you are a startup or have a business idea, then come along. This meetup is informal and great for anyone interested in finding out or supporting a not-for-profit initiative to create jobs and an entrepreneurial spirit in Charters Towers.

At 19, she started her first company.

In today's Herald Sun, there is a story about a young woman who started her first company at 19 years of age from her mother's kitchen table. 

Today, almost ten years later, she has started another, but this one is worth more than $231 million, and used by 5 million people. Melanie Perkins is more than a "$200m Start-up Wunderkind", she is a woman on a mission and age has never been her barrier.
