Community Manager for The World Incubator

The World Incubator Community Manager - Charters Towers-based

One of the most exciting opportunities is being made available to a capable, self-starting marketing, communications or management graduate, looking to pursue a meaningful career in helping startup businesses succeed.

The position is that of a Community Manager, someone who will work closely with startups, motivating them daily and encouraging their learning and development.

The position entails:

  • Working closely with startups working from The World Incubator
  • Getting The World Incubator off the ground
  • Onboarding new startups
  • Seeking sponsorship for The World Incubator
  • Working with startups on sourcing crowd-funding (this will be taught to the successful applicant)
  • Creating a positive, alive and purposeful work environment for all startups
  • Rolling up your sleeve and helping out wherever need be
  • Handling all inquiries for applications, sponsorships and volunteers
  • Developing networks
  • Writing proposals and grant submissions
  • Marketing events
  • Reporting
  • Working with external companies to develop ongoing training and development of all people in the Incubator
  • Working closely with sponsors to maximise their exposure

This role is one that requires a highly motivated, passionate individual who believes in positivity, planning and results. Someone who doesn't take no for answer and works tirelessly to help others achieve their personal and professional goals.

It won't be easy - it's a startup too. But it will be rewarding. Our aim is to see businesses succeed and prosper, creating jobs for locals in Charters Towers.

There will be no down time as there is always something to do. You will be the face of The World Incubator and a voice in the community. This is a high profile position the requires a person who won't shy away from pushing this cause and making Charters Towers a better place to do business.

There will be innovation, and interesting people who have proven track records in which to learn from.

You will be treated as if you are part of the international "Marketing Eye" brand and will benefit from this association. 

Contract details:

  • 3-month initial contract with extension opportunities
  • $6,500 per month contract x 3 months
  • Training and development included
  • Inclusion in Marketing Eye internationals marketing program

The World Incubator

Mellissah Smith is the Chairperson of The World Incubator, a not-for-profit business incubator in rural Queensland. Currently the incubator is situation in Wherry House in Charters Towers, North Queensland and houses 10 startups.
